Literature by all means
Literature by all means
Trying to find the perfect book can be of great hassle, sometimes it may even take months. To me, a good piece of literature has a well-structured plot and effective diction, while remaining entertaining. Without these three main characteristics, a book is worthless; I do not even bother to touch it. Recently, I was in the mood for reading a great detective novel. I happened to stumble across a very unique and brilliant book titledFarewell, My Lovely. This novel by Raymond Chandler is a great work of literature and definitely worth taking with us into the Twenty-first Century.

Children's Teeth
Children’s teeth begin to form before birth.  It is essential for mothers to have proper nutrition during pregnancy for the development of teeth. Mother’s should consume plenty of calcium, phosphorus, vitamin C, and vitamin D. At birth, the baby already has 20 primary teeth developed in the jaw. To grow and maintain healthy teeth, oral care should be started soon after the baby’s birth. Cleaning the gum’s of the baby after feeding and starting to brush as soon as the teeth appear are highly recommended.  Read

The title of this Olay ad is “When it comes to skin saturated with beauty, Quench reigns.” This ad comes from the Cosmopolitan magazine from February 2008. In this ad there is a young female who looks very simple and beautiful. She seems as if she in enjoying the softness of her skin and is free from the world. I think this ad means that the Olay lotion makes you feel young, beautiful, and free.

Smithsonian American Art Museum
While visiting the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the artwork that I found most interesting was “Woman Eating” by Duane Hanson. This artwork was made in 1971, so I believe it is a sculpture showing a hard working woman in the early days. It shows the troubles and hard times woman had to endure and could not do anything about it. This sculpture truly touched me not only because of the great work done by the artist but also because the message I interpreted by looking at the sculpture. Read

Misunderstanding ISLAM
Thirty-nine percent of respondents to the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll said they felt at least some prejudice against Muslims. The same percentage favored requiring Muslims, including U.S. citizens, to carry a special ID "as a means of preventing terrorist attacks in the United States." About one-third said U.S. Muslims were sympathetic to al-Qaeda, and 22% said they wouldn't want Muslims as neighbors. A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll of 1,007 Americans shows strong anti-Muslim feeling. And the hard feelings are damaging the mental health of U.S. Muslims. I don't think there's a Muslim out there who hasn't felt some kind of fallout from 9/11," says Jafar Siddiqui, 55, a real estate agent in Lynnwood, Washington. "I myself have been invited to 'go home' at least once a month." Siddiqui has been a U.S. citizen for 20 years. Read
